Do you rent dumpsters for businesses in Hattiesburg?

Not right now — Pine Belt Dumpsters is an information site and is not currently taking orders, from businesses or anyone else. Businesses in Hattiesburg rent from local independent haulers and the larger waste companies: a roll-off for a one-off job like a fit-out or clear-out, or a small front-load bin on a scheduled pickup for everyday trash.

Two different products under one name

A roll-off is the long open-top can a truck slides off its bed — 10, 15, 20 or 30 yards, rented for a set number of days and hauled away when you are done. It suits a store refit, an office move, clearing out a warehouse, or tearing out a restaurant kitchen.

A front-load bin is the smaller lidded container behind a restaurant or strip centre, emptied on a fixed schedule by a truck with forks on the front. Those are typically 2 to 8 yards and sold as an ongoing service agreement, not a rental with an end date.

If the waste never stops — food scraps, cardboard, daily trash — you want scheduled service, not a roll-off. Using a 20-yard as a permanent trash can usually means paying for swaps and extra days on something that was never meant to stay.

What a business should pin down

For a roll-off, the same three numbers as any rental: size, tonnage included and rental days. Around Hattiesburg the market norm in August 2026 was about 2 to 2.5 tons and seven days, with weight over the allowance commonly $50 to $100 per ton off the landfill scale ticket.

For scheduled service, read the agreement before the bin arrives. Ask about the contract length, whether it renews automatically, how much notice cancelling takes, and whether the rate can rise mid-term. Those terms cost a business more than the monthly figure does.

Ask who you are dealing with. A broker or national booking site will subcontract a local truck; a local operator sends its own. Either can work, but you want to know whose insurance stands behind the can on your lot and who answers the phone when a pickup is missed.

Placement on a commercial lot

The truck needs room to work. A roll-off wants a straight run of roughly 60 feet and clear space overhead for the bed to tilt — watch for canopies, drive-thru overhangs and sign arms. A front-load truck needs to reach the bin head-on, which is why enclosures sit at the back of the lot.

If you lease the building, check the lease and ask the landlord or property manager first; many centres already have a waste contract and a set enclosure. Inside the city limits, a can on the street or right-of-way rather than your own lot needs a permit from the city.

Keep the banned items out whatever you rent: tires, batteries, paint and solvents, cooking oil and grease, and anything with freon. Restaurants in particular should set up grease collection separately — it does not belong in a dumpster.

Get in front of local providers

We’re not a hauler and we don’t quote prices. Tell us what the job is and we’ll pass your request to local dumpster providers who can service it. A request for contact, not an order — nothing booked, nothing charged.
