What size dumpster do you actually need?

For a garage cleanout or small bathroom remodel take the 10-yard; for a whole-home cleanout or kitchen remodel take the 20-yard, which is the size most households end up needing. Go to the 30-yard only for construction, major renovations or estate clearouts.

Size by job

10-yard — garage cleanout, small bathroom remodel, yard debris. Roughly 3 pickup loads.

15-yard — flooring tear-out, roofing up to about 20 squares, a medium cleanout. Worth asking for: several national brokers skip this size entirely, while local suppliers here stock it.

20-yard — whole-home cleanout, kitchen remodel, deck removal. The one most people need.

30-yard — construction, major renovation, estate clearouts.

When to size up

Going one size up is almost always cheaper than needing a second can. Each step up tends to add $40 to $80 to a local quote, while a second delivery costs you the whole delivery again.

For heavy material the opposite applies — a smaller can you can fill to the tonnage limit beats a big one you cannot legally load.

Get in front of local providers

We’re not a hauler and we don’t quote prices. Tell us what the job is and we’ll pass your request to local dumpster providers who can service it. A request for contact, not an order — nothing booked, nothing charged.
