Will a dumpster damage my driveway?
A loaded roll-off is heavy and rides on narrow steel rails, so on older concrete or hot asphalt it can leave marks. The usual answer is boards under the rails, which most providers will put down if you ask — say so before delivery day.
Concrete vs asphalt
Sound concrete usually takes it fine. Older concrete with existing cracks, or thin residential pours, are where problems show up.
Asphalt is the one to think about — it softens in Mississippi summer heat, and the rails concentrate a lot of weight on a small area.
What to do about it
Ask for boards, and ask when you book rather than when the truck is in the street. It normally costs nothing.
Also ask who carries the risk if the driveway is damaged. The driver is working for the hauling company, and their insurance — not the website you found them through — is what any claim runs against.
